The Dance of Dragons

Stannis confronts a troubling decision after Ramsay leads a covert attack on his camp, destroying siege equipment and food stores and killing many horses: having dispatched Davos to Castle Black to request more supplies, Stannis, with Selyse's approval, allows Melisandre to sacrifice Shireen, burning her alive at the stake in the belief it will help win the war. Jon and the other survivors return to the Wall, and the Wildlings are allowed to pass south. In Dorne, Prince Doran permits Jaime and Bronn to return to King's Landing with Myrcella, provided Trystane accompanies them and serves on the Small Council in Oberyn's stead; Doran also pardons Ellaria and her daughters.

In Braavos, Arya encounters someone from her past, aborting her first assassination assignment after spotting Ser Meryn Trant accompanying Mace Tyrell, the Master of Coin, who has arrived to negotiate with the Iron Bank. In Meereen, Daenerys reluctantly oversees the resumed combat at Daznak's fighting pit and is stunned to find Jorah among the fighters; his victory is interrupted when the Sons of the Harpy launch a surprise attack, killing Hizdahr. The Harpies swarm Daenerys and her supporters, forcing them into the pit, until Drogon suddenly arrives and burns many of them; Daenerys mounts Drogon and commands him to fly away.
